Privacy Policy

Document version 1.0.0

Last updated July 21, 2026.

The Backlinkifier website at https://backlinkifier.com, together with the Backlinkifier embed widget, dashboard, and related services (collectively, the “Service”), is owned and operated by Conscious Apps Inc. (“Conscious Apps,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This privacy policy explains what information we collect through the Service, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have in relation to it.

If you have any questions about this policy or our practices, please contact us at legal@backlinkifier.com.

1. Overview

Backlinkifier is a marketplace for backlink placements: page owners register their pages and embed our widget, and customers bid to have a link placed on those pages. Using the marketplace requires verifying your email address, and orders involve payments processed by Stripe. We collect the information needed to run that marketplace — and little else:

  • Your email address, used to sign you in with one-time codes and to send you transactional emails about your orders or your pages
  • The details of bids and orders you place — the page, your destination URL, the bid amount, and the placement text you approve
  • The pages you register as a page owner, and the payout details you provide to Stripe

We do not sell personal information, we do not show advertising, and we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking technologies.

2. Information You Provide

Account and sign-in. The Service uses passwordless sign-in: we collect your email address and send it a one-time code. Your email address identifies your account for both roles — placing bids and owning pages.

Bids and orders. When you place a bid, we collect the page you are bidding on, the URL you want linked, your bid amount, and — once drafted — the placement text you approve. This information is shared with the page’s owner so they can decide whether to place your link.

Payments. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers — we store only Stripe’s references to the payment (such as the payment intent identifier), the amount, and the resulting status. Page owners who set up payouts complete Stripe Connect onboarding directly with Stripe, which collects the identity and banking information Stripe requires; we store only the account reference and its status.

Page registration. If you register a page as an owner, we store its URL and origins, your email address as its owner, and settings such as your widget color.

Correspondence. If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and the contents of your message, which we use to respond to you.

3. Information Collected Automatically

Like nearly all websites, our hosting infrastructure automatically processes certain technical information when you visit the Service, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, and the pages you visit. This information is needed to deliver the Service, maintain its security, and understand aggregate usage. We also use IP addresses to rate-limit order creation as a fraud-prevention measure.

Separately, our systems automatically visit registered pages to derive pricing and to verify that purchased links are live. These visits use an identified Backlinkifier user agent and read only the public content of the page.

We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any similar third-party tracking services.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

We use a minimal set of cookies:

  • Session cookie: after you verify your email with a one-time code, a session cookie keeps you signed in.

We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or fingerprinting.

5. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Operate the marketplace — create and manage orders, share bids and placement text with the relevant page owner, and verify placements
  • Sign you in and secure your account
  • Process payments, holds, refunds, and payouts through Stripe
  • Send transactional emails about your orders and pages (sign-in codes, order notifications, placement confirmations, reminders)
  • Generate suggested placement text for your order
  • Maintain the security, stability, and performance of the Service, including rate limiting
  • Comply with applicable laws and legal processes, including tax and accounting obligations

6. How We Share Your Information

Order details are shared between the parties to the order: page owners see the bids, destination URLs, placement text, and contact context needed to evaluate a request, and customers see the status of their placement. Beyond that, we share personal information only with the service providers that help us run the Service, and only to the extent needed for them to perform their services:

  • Vercel — website hosting and content delivery
  • Stripe — payment processing, card holds, refunds, and payouts to page owners
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • Upstash — data storage for caching and rate limiting
  • Anthropic — generating suggested placement text; the content of the target page and your destination URL are sent to Anthropic’s API for this purpose
  • Open PageRank — we send the domain of a registered page to obtain its authority score; no personal information is included

We may also disclose information where required by law — for example, to comply with a court order or other legal process — or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will take reasonable steps to ensure your information remains protected.

We do not sell or rent your personal information, share it with third parties for their marketing purposes, or use it for advertising.

7. Where Your Information Is Processed

Conscious Apps Inc. is based in the United States, and the service providers listed above process data primarily on servers located in the United States. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, and other countries where our service providers operate, which may have data protection laws different from those of your country. We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information in accordance with this policy wherever it is processed.

8. How Long We Keep Your Information

  • Account information: retained while your account is active, and deleted on request where we have no legal reason to keep it.
  • Order records: retained for as long as needed to operate the marketplace and to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations, since they document financial transactions.
  • Correspondence: retained as long as needed to handle your inquiry and for a reasonable period thereafter.
  • Technical logs: retained for limited periods consistent with our providers’ standard practices.

9. How We Keep Your Information Safe

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the information we process, including encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS), reputable cloud infrastructure providers, and access controls. Card data is handled exclusively by Stripe, a PCI-DSS-certified payment processor. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

The Service is a commercial marketplace intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and you must be at least 18 to place a bid or register a page. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under applicable privacy laws — including the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), US state privacy laws, and similar laws — to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate personal information
  • Delete your personal information
  • Receive a copy of your information in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent or object to certain processing at any time

To exercise any of these rights, email us at legal@backlinkifier.com. We will respond within 30 days. Note that we may need to retain records of completed financial transactions even after an account deletion request, to the extent the law requires it. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority, though we would appreciate the chance to address your concerns first.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated “Last updated” date at the top of this page and will be effective as soon as it is posted. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you — for example, by posting a prominent notice on the Service or by email.
